OLA Travel and Leisure Reviews

I would like to welcome everyone joining us for the 1st edition of OLA Reviews. The weekly segment from OLA Travel & Leisure where we bring to you a more in depth look at our reviews from Google Contribute. To see my full list of reviews check out Google Reviews.
With Valentines Day fast approaching, now is a good time for us to jump right into this. With many guys settling for the standard flowers & chocolates, it's time to set yourself apart from the crowd.

In the first segment we will take a look at every ladies favorite handbag retailer, Louis Vuitton. On every street and in countless Instagram photos, you'll find the iconic LV brand on display. Every Christmas or Valentines season, you can find the many LV stores packed with men with bewildered looks on their face's.

I was one of those men, once. How could a scarf, belt or bag cost thousands of dollars? What exactly is the big deal between a Coach and LV bag anyways? If your not familiar with the LV brand and you have a girlfriend or wife, read on.

My education began at the various LV stores in downtown Boston and surrounding towns. For guys, stepping foot in a LV store for the first time, it can be intimidating. Have enough patience and you will be amazed at how much you can surprise that special someone. And hey, if David Ortiz can be found shopping at a LV store (not for himself), you can do it.

As with most LV stores, you run the risk of dealing with snobby associates. I have been fortunate so far. It is good to do some research online before jumping in head first. Spend some time online on the official website Louis Vuitton US to familiarize yourself with the names of the bags. Yes, the bags have names. Once you have dried the blood from your eyes, give them a call at 1-866-VUITTON to see if the local B&M has the item in stock. If looking online is not your thing, then head down to one of the stores in your area Store Locator.
(Power-play)

The best advice is to have good friend (preferably female) on standby when you go in. Don't be shy about taking snapshots with your phone and get feedback from that friend. You would laugh at the sight of a half dozen men all with the cell phones taking pictures. They all have secret agents giving them a hand. Don't bother asking the advice of the associates, they will only try to talk you into the most expensive thing in the store.

Now you might think, "Spending this much money, what if she doesn't like it?". First off, by the time the sheer amazement wears off that you bought her an LV on your own, she will likely be trying to remember her own name. Second, if in the rarest event that she is not feeling what you got they have a reasonable return policy. Most LV stores offer a 14 day complete cash return and a 30 day exchange policy. If she has to exchange it for something else it won't diminish the fact that she is getting an LV out of it. Trust me on this one, I've been there a few times.

Now you may wonder, why does it have to be an LV bag? Wouldn't a Coach bag or some other brand be just a good? Let me put it to you this way, would you like the V4, V6 or V8 in that shiny new car? Just as the distinct difference goes without saying for us men, the same can be said for the Louis Vuitton brand. The other brands are the V6's and 4-bangers.

Well gentlemen, there it is. If you are looking for the jaw dropping reaction from that certain someone, take the leap. You won't regret it.

Just be forewarned, once you endeavor down this road it is a slippery slope (see below).
